Harry S. Truman
|
The Buck Stops Here!
Truman was an honest man and faithful
husband. Always did what he thought was right. Desegregated
the armed forces even though he was told he would lose
the election of 1948. Made the tough decisions. . Never
went to College and served as a Captain in W.W.I. (Truman
Doctrine, Marshall Plan, NATO, and the Berlin Airlift)
"Give em hell, Harry!"

John Adams
|
Never got the credit
he deserved for the birth of the U.S., and unlike Jefferson
or Washington, he never owned slaves. "Jefferson Lives...."

|
Abraham Lincoln
|
Right or wrong, he did
whatever he had to do to keep the United States together.
He was morally against slavery, and though the cost was great,
he saved the Union. Unfortuantely, Lincoln really bent the
U.S. Constitution into a pretzal at times |

George Washington
|
First in war, first in
peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen.....(He's just
not first on my list, sorry George. Look on the bright side,
you made it higher than the other two Georges on my rankings.) |

Gerald Ford
|
Ford put the country first by pardoning
Nixon and it cost him the 1976 election in my opinion. Like
Truman, Ford came in and did the best he could during a
difficult time. He brought honor back to the office of the
President.
"I'm a Ford, not a Lincoln."
-Gerald Ford

John F. Kennedy

His successes, failures, and unexpected
death shaped a decade and nation. Through his vision, dreams,
and hopes, America touched the surface of the moon and astonished
the world.

The only two term, non consecutive president of the United
States. |

|
Dwight D. Eisenhower
|
"I will go to Korea.."
-- Dwight Eisenhower
Eisenhower enforced Brown vs. Board
of Education, but he screwed Patton after WW II if you ask
me. Eisenhower claimed America didn't spy on Russia with
U2 planes, until of course the USSR produced Gary Powers
and the wreackage of a U-2 spy plane. Oops!
The Bay of Pigs plan was started
under his administration. He picked Richard Nixon as his
vice president --enough said! Better General than President...

|
Franklin D. Roosevelt
|
For everything good I
could say about this man, I can say just as many bad things.
Roosevelt started many important social programs, selected
Senator Truman to be Vice President in his 4th term, and led
us through the Depression and WWII. But,..he should never
have run for a 3rd and 4th term and there is NO excuse for
Japanesse Internment Camps that were created by his Executive
Order. |

|
Calvin Coolidge
|
He took over for Harding and got
elected in his own right. Upon hearing the news of Harding's
death, he had his father swear him in as president, and
then went back to bed.
The Roaring 20's. Silent Cal
A young lady approached the president
during a party and said: "I bet my friend that I could
make you say more than two words. The President replied:
"You lose."
Coolidge should have gotten more
blame for the Stock Market Crash and the Great Depression.
Not running for reelection in 1928 was the smartest thing
he did.

Bill Clinton
|
A disappointment. He could
have been one of the great ones, but alas, close, but no cigar!
In eight years the national debt only went up a trillion dollars.
When he left office the budgets were balanced and their was
a budget surplus. A surplus that would be thrown away by the
next president. So much for reducing the national debt. In
comparison, George Bush sr. in four years increased the debt
by 1 trillion and his son in 6 six years has increased it
by 3.2 trillion dollars. The time bomb is ticking. |

|
19
|
Ronald Reagan
|
Reagan was loved by some,
hated by others. It was morning in America, for the rich. America's
national debt in 1980 was 1 trillion dollars, in 1988 it was
3 trillion. You know, give me a credit card with a 2 trillion
dollar limit, and I'll show you an illusion of prosperity
too! How did Nixon get forced from office over Watergate while
Reagan survived the Iran-Contra affair is beyond me... |

|
Ulyssess S. Grant
|
Grant's administration was corrupt
and he even tried to run for a 3rd term later on. Naughty,...naughty....(Better
General than President). His autobiography is tops!
"Ulyssess S. Grant, I know him
well. He stood by me when I was crazy, and I stood by him
when he was drunk, and now we stand by each other always."
---General William Tecumseh Sherman.

Was truly a big man! Would
go on to be Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court!
When he left office he weighed 355 pounds. |

22
|
John Tyler
|
Tyler took over for William
Henry Harrison who died 30 days into his presidency. Unlike
Harrison, Tyler knew where his coat and gloves were... "Tippiecanoe

John Quincy Adams
|
Adams couldn't get anything

abolitionist. Defended the crew of the Amistad. |

Martin Van Buren
|
He came, he saw, he went.
Yeah, that about sums it up. He continued Jackson's silly
policies on Native Americans as the economy fell apart. |

|
A good and honorable man,
but a horrible politician. Carter had a Democratic Congress
and managed to accomplish very little. His mother and brother
were a hoot! |

|
30
|
Woodrow Wilson
|
Wilson promised to keep
America out of World War I during his re-election campaign
in 1916 and once praised the marching of the KKK down Pennsylvania
Avenue. His own ego and stubborness caused the League of Nations
to be dead on arrival when it hit the Senate. |

His administration was littered with
corruption but a good man. I perdict his stock will rise

James K. Polk
|
Polk stole the southwestern U.S.from
Mexico.
Manifest Destiny - what a load of
dung!
Where do the Native Americans fit
into this well oiled plan, Mr. President? Polk created a
war for his own purposes, sounds kind of familair doesn't
it?

|
George Bush
|
Read my lips.....Voodoo
Economics! I do admire the fact that Bush signed a tax increase
in 1990 even though he knew he would get beat over the head
with it in the 92 election by the democrats. Bush did what
he thought was best for the country and not himself politically.
I admire this. The only problem is that he should have never
made a promise of that sort to get elected in the first place. |

|
George W. Bush
|
Where are the WMD's, George?
Since a majority of what I could write here would be inappropriate
for small children and farm animals, I will refrain until
he is a former president (which will happen at exactly 12:01
pm on January 20th, 2009 -- not that I'm counting) |

36
|
Lyndon Johnson
|
The Great Society was
replaced, unfortunately, by the Vietnam War. Johnson could
have been one of the great ones! (Civil Rights
Act of 1964, Significantly reduced the percentage of poor
people in America, Started the Head Start Program and PBS.) |

much of Mr. Twenty dollar bill. And there are three words
why: Trail of Tears. |

|
Richard M. Nixon
|
Nixon disgraced himself
and the office of the president. He used the Constitution
as a welcome mat. Considering all his other accomplishments
as president, he could have gone down as one of our best presidents
if his inner demons hadn't won control. |

|
Herbert Hoover
|
Less government isn't good government
when the wheels of society come off.
Hoovervilles -Enough said! (Lead,
follow, or get the hell out of the way)
After 3 years of doing practially
nothing, thought he deserved another term. The American
people thought differently.
The next republican president wouldn't
be until 1953
|
31
|
|
42
|
William Henry Harrison
|
Harrison wasn't smart
enough to put on a coat or gloves in freezing weather and
just to top this his inauguration speech was over two hours
long. Harrison developed pneumonia and died a month later.
