The Twlight Zone! |
<William
Shatner's voice> "There is...something...on....
the..wing!!" Nothing
holds up better than the original Twlight Zone. It is truly the grand daddy of
them all! |
| 2)
The Original Star Trek |
This
fantastic show ignited the imagination of a generation, resulting eventually in
generations, go figure! Kirk
and Spock were the Frodo and Sam of their time! There is one word that can be
used to describe Star Trek's sydication run during the 1970's, and that word is
Magical! "I
need warp speed, Mr. Scott!" -- Captain James T. Kirk

| 3)
Star Trek: The Next Generation |
Make
it so!
This show was weak the first season, but once it got to the Borg cliffhanger at
the end of the third season, it was doing Warp 10. I honestly admit I hated this
show when it came out, but by the second season it was one of my favorites. In
the end, resistance was futile. I think the moment they hooked me was with Tasha's
death, they did a great storyline and episode. I really didn't think Gene could
capture lightning in a bottle again, boy, was I wrong! |

The Six Million Dollar Man |
We
can rebuild him, we have the technology..... Growing up in the 1970's, I had three
heroes, and Steve Austin was one of them. It's amazing how times have changed.
I remember thinking it was really cool that Oscar Goldman had a phone in his briefcase.
Today, six million couldn't even get you a good power forward. This is when Lee
Majors was "The Guy" and not "The Fall Guy".

| 5)
The New Battlestar Galactica! | WOW!
Blew me totally away! (Yes, I'm very sorry for using the word totally).Bottom
line, this is a great show and has an awesome cast all around! I especially like
the two actors who play Colonel Tigh and Starbuck --I love how they play these
roles. Also, I like what they have done with the Boomer and Baltar Characters.
It was great seeing Richard Hatch (Apollo) on a few episodes. He is a excellent
actor and I miss seeing his work (Deadman's Curve, and a favorite Hawaii 5-0 episode
of mine). |
| 6)
The Outer Limits! | A
quality Twilight Zone rip off. I mean that in a good way :-) |
| 7)
The Original Battlestar Galactica | Loved
this show! Was very sad when ABC cancelled it. If only Blue Squadron could have
led a strike against the networks home office. "By your command..." |
| 8)
Doctor Who |
A
time machine in a police booth! Who ya gonna call? Tom Baker was the best doctor!
Well, it's time to get K-9, some Jelly Babies, and my scarf and move down to number
9. See you there.
Frrrrr
BOOM....Frrrrr BOOM! |
| 9)
Red Dwarf |
Great
space comedy! If you don't agree, you're a smeg head! (You'll only understand
that comment if you've watched the show) Ace Rimmer to the rescue!
|
| 10)
The Greatest American Hero |
I
loved this show! (Believe it or not, I'm walking on air!) I thought William Katt
and Robert Culp were EXCELLENT together, and Connie Selleca was the icying on
the cake! What get comedy instincts she had! This show got screwed by the network
(ABC). OK, here's the Senerio, kid: Why doesn't someone take the premise of this
show and make a big budget, modern day movie? Three years was too short a time
to watch the "Magic Jammies." NOTE:
Season one, two and three of the Greatest American Hero have been released on
DVD. Guess who owns all three? Come on? Guess?
|
| 11)
The Highlander |
In
the end, there can be only one! I
loved the first movie, but unfortunately the rest were absolutely horrible! I
didn't think this premise would work on television and was not crazy about the
first season of Highlander. It seemed as if immortals were popping out of the
woodwork everywhere. What was next a confrontation in a grocery check-out line?
But this show got really, really good and I would never miss an episode. I liked
the Watchers concept, added a lot to the show. Thought both Duncan and Connor
were played by great actors.
|
| 12)
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century |
OK,
I know, I know... It was really poor 1970's science fiction, but Gil was a great
Buck Rogers! Remember all those skin tight outfits Wilma Deering wore? This spot
on my list is for Twiki. I liked the first season but only a few episodes of the
second. The acting talent was there, the show just needed better sci-fi writers.
|
| 13)
Quantum Leap | Oh
Boy! I ABSOLUTELY hated the ending of this show! We learn that Dr. Sam Beckett
never makes it home to his life and they tell you as much on the very last frame
of the show. Not much of a reward for him in the end, now is there? I would hope
whatever moron came up with this idea has already leaped. |
| 14)
Angel |
It
was a thousand times better than Buffy and had a great ending! This show won me
over. I loved the humor when it emerged and the actor who played Angel did an
awesome job. Who am I kidding? The whole cast was great. I really liked the growth
of the Wesley character.
|
| 15)
Airwolf |
"Give
me a Hellfire, Dom!" A
Mach 1, bad to the bone, chopper! I loved this show! Much better than that slow
moving Blue Thunder. How can you not like a show when the main character's name
is Stringfellow Hawk? I hated the USA networks spin-off and the storyline of what
happened to the original characters.
|
| 16)
Deep Space Nine | To
boldly stay in the same place where everyone has been before! This show started
pretty slow but soon kicked into warp drive and after the first season, never
looked back. I think the addition of the Next Generation's characters brought
out the best in the existing characters. |
| 17)
X-Files | Scully,....Scully.....Scully
(The three reasons I watched occasionally) |
| 18)
The incredible Hulk | Don't
make me angry,..you wouldn't like me when I'm angry! I thought they pulled this
show off quite well, which was a daring task when you think of the show's premise
and special effects in the 70's. |
| 19)
Babylon 5 | Not
bad. Really didn't get into it but I liked the last two seasons the best. |
| 20)Stargate
SG-1 | Liked
the movie! Heard the show was very good! Never got into it. |
| 21)
Batman |
Pow...zap--kapooie
--NUFF SAID! (This is one of those shows I fondly remember from my childhood but
have a hard time sitting through as an adult. It's on my list because of the fun
it brought to my youth)
